There are things I have hardly seen

And most definitely have never been

But I really wish I would someday

If fate would put the chance my way

Such as the mountains

Majestic and tall

Against which even giants

Feel helpless and small

Or deep canyons and valleys

And shimmering waterfalls

I have perhaps seen a few

But I would like to see more

Maybe the wonders of space

In the dark night sky

And constellations I could trace

With just the gaze of my eyes

There so many things I wish to see

But I haven’t seen them yet

But until I do I will remember

That I want to and won’t forget

Listen to the whispering of the wind

Here on the earth and all within

Listen to it dancing through the trees

Dancing through the skies on a breeze

Can you hear it calling

As it whispers in your ear?

Can you hear it beckon

Willing you to come near?

To call you out to the great outdoors

Underneath the coral sky

To watch the summer birds take wing

To the clouds so high

To see the bright dawn

As it rises over the sea

To smile at the flowing river

As it ripples through the trees

So can you hear it?

The whispering of the wind

Can you hear it call your name?

Telling you to take wing?

I know I have heard it

I’ve heard it many times

Telling me to laugh and smile

And to know that all is fine

Hidden away so no one can see

Is a place wild and free

Where the grasses grow everywhere

And the sun shines without a care

Where the Spring bursts out with a leap

There no man can find reason to weep

Where the summer is flowers in full bloom

And night is the beauty of the stars and moon

In there the waters are always clear

And in the wind God seems ever so near

Where the bright blue skies brings laughter to the eyes

And no one shall any reason to sigh

There the ivy creeps on the walls

And the mighty trees stand proud and tall

Where an invalid boy in the face of laughter

Can stand up and say, "I will get better!"
